WORLD’S FAIR, PARIS, 1889 GUSTAVE EIFFEL (1832–1923) – STAIR TREAD AND TWO STAIR TREAD COMPONENTS FROM ONE OF THE STAIRCASES OF THE EIFFEL TOWER Puddled and riveted iron Riser. Height: 11 cm; Length: 64 cm. Riser sections. Height: 3 cm; Length: 64 cm. Shows signs of use. This piece comes from the spiral staircase that connected the second and third floors of the Eiffel Tower. PROVENANCE. Purchased at the auction on December 1, 1983.
