EXCEPTIONAL CANDELABRA FROM THE COURTYARD OF THE LOUVRE Bronze, the canted post adorned with a dolphin in relief, the fluted shaft with laurel branch surmounted by a bouquet with five arms of light. Model from the courtyard of the Louvre. c. 1860-1870. Height. Approx. 4.3 m. Diameter. approx. 1 m. This candelabra is composed of several overlapping bronze elements. The central tubular core is missing. The lanterns are missing. This model of lamppost was photographed by Charles Marville, some of which are held by the Musée Carnavalet in Paris.
