PROVENANCE: Ring made by the artist at the request of the current owner. Jean Lamore is a Franco-American artist born in 1952 in Washington, D.C., who has lived in France since 1977. Sculptor, painter, writer and film-maker, he has developed a multi-disciplinary art, nourished by a reflection on memory, history and social issues, and in revolt against military conflicts.
His work has been exhibited in France, Italy and Japan. Through his animal sculptures, which are marked by a certain mannerism, he seeks to create a dialogue between art and collective consciousness. Among his most emblematic creations is "La Précarité de la Paix", a monumental sculpture installed in Vitry-sur-Seine depicting a lioness about to devour a man.
