An advertisement from the hardware store Aux Tenailles d'Or, 160, rue Montmartre, Paris, circa 1900, tells us that these stoves are offered there and "fitted with red glass on the panels, which gives the appearance of fire and completely charms the eye". The same article states that these "appliances can heat a room of 70 cubic meters in the coldest weather".
