A single fountain of a similar model, marked "L. GASNE, maître de forges à Tusey (Meuse)", installed in 1895, still stands today in Paris on the platforms of the Port-Royal railway station. Louis Gasne owned the Tusey iron foundries in Vaucouleurs between 1874 and 1896. These foundries were renowned for the exceptional cast iron of the monumental fountains, rostral columns and candelabras of the Place de la Concorde. Gasne was awarded the gold medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle. He took over the Thiébaut foundry in 1901, which has adorned countless squares and gardens in Paris, notably with monumental works.
