HOTEL RITZ JARDINIÈRE Gilded metal, oval-shaped, the body decorated with the Hôtel Ritz emblem in a palmette, on a background of interlacing, the corners in the shape of crowned, winged female terms, standing on leafy scrolled feet. c. 1900. Height. 27.5cm; Length. 47cm; Width. 30cm. Slight damage to a palmette. This jardinière is most likely a Christofle design based on drawings by the architect Charles MEWÈS (1858-1914) for the decor of the Ritz when it opened in 1898.
