Teresa Tyskiewicz is a Polish-born video artist, painter and performer. She began making films in collaboration with her husband. She moved to Paris in 1982 and began working with pins, a gesture linked to embroidery, an age-old activity associated with the feminine, conveying the idea of dressmaking and, by extension, reproduction. The thousands of pins planted in her monochrome canvases are the result of the artist's struggle with her work, reflecting a creative process based on patience and perseverance. These fields of pins, born of the artist's vital energy, can evoke the fruits of a seed, evoking the idea of reproduction.
