UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION, PARIS 1889. GLASS. Colored glass held by lead weights, showing a military man on horseback, in a reserve surmounted by the coat of arms of the city of Paris, framed by coats of arms of cities of France and bearing the inscription: La France géographique et militaire, départements groupés selon leur valeur industrielle et agricole. Dated 1889. In a wooden rod. 70 x 49.4 cm. This type of stained glass window was used by the exhibiting glass painters to promote their know-how to the visitors of the World Fair.
