* DESK CALLED "MAZARIN".
With eight legs and curved front, with inlaid decoration in first and counterpart of brass and marine tortoise shell (Chelonioidea spp) (pre Convention) tinted red. The rectangular top is decorated with dancers and musicians under a canopy in the center of a composition after Jean Bérain (1640-1711) animated with foliage, tendrils and scrolls, flowering vases, chariots with squirrels, winged sphinxes and exotic birds.
It opens with six drawers on three rows separated by crosspieces in two boxes, on either side of a central drawer and a door.
Louis XIV style, with antique elements.
The base of later period composed of eight legs in sheath joined by two X braces, some locks replaced, the bottom reported, restorations and probable enrichment of marquetry on the framing of side panels, some lifting of brass fillets.
