CARPET TÉBRIZ decorated with a large central medallion polylobed blue and ivory decorated with a flowery vase and flowers, extended by two pendants on a navy blue background enhanced with floral scrolls and vases of polychrome flowers on a tobacco background with the same decoration.
A tobacco border with floral and bird motifs surrounds the composition.
Cotton warp and weft, wool velvet.

Due to its proximity to Turkish ports, Tebriz developed an important trade with Europe and thus became a major center of carpet production. From the end of the 18th century, large carpet factories were created there. Tebriz carpets are characterized by a high quality of knotting and present various decorations: the classical decoration of the central medallion with four spandrels, the vase decoration, the full field herati decoration, figurative or landscape decorations, prayer rugs or garden rugs.
