HANGER BORNE Chased and gilded bronze.
The circular dial enamelled white with Roman numerals, signed Bret in Paris, is inscribed in a terminal covered with a drapery with tassels, on which is leaning a pensive woman holding a book in her hand, illuminated by a hot water lamp.
The whole rests on a rectangular base decorated in front with cherubs reading among foliage and heads of winged women on the sides.
Early 19th century.
