FIRE WARNER FOR PUBLIC ROADS, PARIS Cast iron painted in red, the upper part rectangular with curved cut sides, bearing, on both sides, the inscription in black letters in relief: "Fire alarm, firemen". The left column opens with a door housing a telephone and bears the inscriptions "in case of disaster break the glass", "apparatus in failure, call ODE 41-64 or 18", "indicate here: the street the number the reason for the call". The amount fixed right carries the inscription "Sapeurs-pompiers sauver ou périr" surmounting the blazon of the City of Paris and the inscription in a cartouche "AOIP, rue Charles Fourrier Paris". It stands on a cylindrical shaft with a flared base. The upper part is equipped with four small translucent rhodoïd plates bearing the inscription "Pompiers", lit at night. Signed A. DURENNE, PARIS.
