DECORATIVE PANEL OF THE RESTAURANT "LE BOEUF SUR LE TOIT", PARIS Printed canvas featuring a woman, after a drawing by Jean Cocteau, titled Le Grand Écart, surrounded by the inscription: "7, rue Fromentin, Le Boeuf sur le toit, 28, rue Boissy d'Anglas, Restaurant-Bar-Dancing". Stretched on frame, the wooden frame. Signed in the plate "Jean à Louis Moyses", Louis Moyses, owner of the bar La Gaya, located 17, rue Duphot in Paris, moved his establishment in 1921 to 28, rue Boissy d'Anglas. He named it Le Boeuf sur le Toit, after the ballet-concert that Jean Cocteau had conceived at the bar La Gaya, with music by Darius Milhaud, inspired by a popular Brazilian song O boi no Telhado (The Ox on the Roof).
