BEAUTIFUL REDUCED MODEL OF THE EIFFEL TOWER Mahogany stained wood, with openwork decoration of lattice and poly-lobed motifs. The platforms have an openwork floor, decorated with quatrefoils. The neo-Moorish railings of the first and second platforms are decorated with the coat of arms of the City of Paris surmounted by the crown of Cybele. The railing of the first platform has a circular space decorated with a crown of quatrefoils, which can accommodate the dial and the movement of a clock. The four legs are joined by a circular openwork motif, decorated with foliage. The tower is topped by a gazebo with tri-lobed arches. This type of model was proposed to the visitors of the World Fair who discovered the Eiffel Tower. 1889. 106.5 x 45 x 45 cm. Reproduced on page 83.
