This monumental project, one hundred meters high and one hundred and forty meters in diameter, was designed by Madame Percha-Giverne, manufacturer of canes and umbrellas, 48, rue de Turbigo, Paris. Made of iron, it was intended to shelter visitors from the elements under a gigantic revolving dome, fitted with multicolored glass, and to house in its "sleeve", on four floors, cafés, restaurants, concerts and theaters, served by elevators. It was intended to be one of the highlights of the Exhibition, but was never built.
