KUB Large enamelled plate for the "K" of... - Lot 223 - Lucien Paris
KUB Large enamelled plate for the "K" of Kub. Model 10 cts. KUB was founded between 1882 and 1887 by Julius Maggi (1846-1912). First called Aroma Maggi, it will take the name of Kub in 1907. Building on its success, Maggi moved to Paris and France in 1902. However, the First World War brought production to a halt, with KUB's "K" having a strong German connotation. Success returned after the war. Julius Maggi was a pioneer in advertising and one of the first major users of the large-format enamelled plaque visible from afar. Format: rectangular, flat, with slight chamfers and basket loop cutting at both ends. Process: stencil. Lettering: red, yellow and blue, on a white and red background. Enamel: NC. Circa 1920. 55 x 181 cm.
