THE NEW YORK TIMES – MAY 5, 1912 Article from The New York Times dated May 5, 1912, concerning the Bonnot Gang, titled “The most amazing true story of crime ever told” and “Inside history of the auto gang’s bloody crimes.” ATTACHED COLLECTION OF INTERNATIONAL ARTICLES ON THE BONNOT GANG La Domenica del Corriere (May 12–19, 1912), La settimana illustrata (February 20, 1913), New York American (April 16, 1912—Titanic), The New York Herald (April 29, 1912), Il Mattino (February 27–28, 1913), Il Mattino (February 28–March 1, 1913), The Dallas Morning News (May 12, 1912), and a newspaper clipping titled “The Racing Car Bandit”: “Jules Bonnot had a brilliant record on race circuits before he turned to crime.” The New York American’s front-page story on the Titanic does not mention Bonnot but serves to highlight the extent of the press coverage of the gang, even a few days after the terrible accident.
