MAURICE CHEVALIER (1888–1972) . A Dunhill boater hat given to Jacques Larue, the singer’s lyricist. . Two postcards signed by the artist, one bearing the inscription “What a shame that after singing so much about the suburbs, I can’t sing a little about Larue” and dated 1954; the other reads “Thank you, dear Larue, and best wishes to you and your beautiful young wife.” Head circumference 59. Slight wear on the hat.
