VELODROME D'HIVER Reunion of 25 photographic prints, some mounted on cardboard, and a panorama showing the Vélodrome d'hiver, some of its directors, the Vel d'Hiv bar, sporting events and tennis champions including Jack Kramer, world tennis champion, Pancho Gonzales, US champion, Frank Parker, French champion and Pancho Segura, South American champion. Among the directors were Hubert Grünwald, who ran the establishment until its destruction in 1959, and Charles Michaelis, who supported him in his mission. c. 1950 Smaller formats. Height. 18 cm; Length. 24 cm. Larger formats mounted on cardboard. Height. 29 cm; Length. 30 cm. The Vélodrome d'Hiver became the Palais des Sports de Grenelle in the early 1930s.
