EXCEPTIONAL COMPLETE FACADE OF THE RESTAURANT "LE MUNICHE Wooden joinery, decorated with frosted glass engraved with foliage and flowers, with four doors (two with brass handles) and four movable glass frames on hinges. c. 1900. Doors: 227 x 80 cm, mobile frames: two of 227 x 58.5 cm and two of 227 x 55 cm. PROVENANCE. Restaurant "Le Muniche", 7, rue Saint-Benoît, Paris, 6th district. Dismantled in 2001.THE RESTAURANT "LA FERMETTE MARBEUF The extraordinary dining room - winter garden of this famous restaurant in the Champs-Élysées district, including ceiling, stained glass, stained glass windows, mosaic frescoes, murals, chandeliers, furnishings and decorative objects, was created in 1898 at the Langham Hotel by the architect Émile Hurtré and created by the master glassmakers Hubert and Martineau and the ceramist Jules Wielhorski. The decoration, The decor, which had been hidden for a long time, was found by chance during work and restored in 1978 by the owners of "La Fermette Marbeuf". In 1982, they miraculously acquired, at an auction in Maisons-Laffitte, the decor of a winter garden that was similar in every way. Long and meticulous work then began to dismantle one by one and number from bottom to top 5,000 tiles of the glass roof. Craftsmen and decorators worked tirelessly throughout the summer of 1984 to reconstruct this second version in "La Fermette Marbeuf", next to the first room, thus "reinventing" the site.
