RARE HANDWRITTEN INVOICE OF THE RESTAURANT "LE BOEUF À LA MODE Ink on paper, detailing the consumption of "cabinet n°7, April 12, 1817". "Eel tartare, truffled partridge, peach and grapes, meringue, vanilla ice cream, gravely 1 bout, Saint-Emilion idem". Augmented with ink drawings of two portraits of women, one with the words "Vilain, comme tu me fais laide". Lithographed paper by Engelman (1788-1839) with the header of the restaurant, showing the transvestite ox framed by the words "wedding meals, feasts, salons and private rooms, rue de Valois". Glued on cardboard. Fading, folds, tears. 18,5 x 21 cm. Attached: - MENU OF THE RESTAURANT "LE BOEUF À LA MODE". Lithograph on strong paper, in two parts, resuming the illustration in color of the transvestite ox created in 1793.
