title and tomes in red morocco.
One binding with a small lack.
The best description of Paris - its trades, its customs,
its anecdotes - on the eve of the French Revolution, where all the
archetypes of Parisian society are analyzed in detail.
The second edition, presented here, is considerably enlarged since the first one, published in 1781, had only two volumes. It is very rare to find the eight volumes of this second edition actually published together. (Lacombe, Bibliographie parisienne, 304; Barbier, IV, 636).
