SET EVOKING A DINING CAR OF THE SLEEPING CAR COMPANY 1929. Reconstitution from original elements, on a wooden structure. All of the wood strips are original. The lower part is modern, The modern lower part has a reconstruction of the original metal and wood radiator cover. The window frames a reproduction of a photograph of Topkapi Point in Constantinople around 1900, at the bottom of which the Orient-Express journey ended. Electrified. Totality of the panel: 221 x 188 cm. - PAIR OF WALL SCONCES Polished bronze, shaped like an inverted cornucopia, supporting an original frosted glass tulip. 1929. 24 x 22 x 9 cm. PROVENANCE. Restaurant car of the Compagnie des Wagons-Lits of the series 3341 to 3360, built in 1928 by EIC Entreprise Industrielle Charentaise in Aytré (car 3360 was the one of the presidential train; car 3348 is kept at the Cité du Train in Mulhouse). PROVENANCE. René Prou, famous decorator of the beginning of the 20th century, decorated decorated liners, apartments, hotels all over the world as well as as well as the luxury trains of the Compagnie des Wagons-Lits, in collaboration with René Lalique, between 1922 and 1926. The panels of the type that we present were fixed above the bed on the cabins of the first metal carriages that ran on the Orient-Express on the Orient-Express, the Train Bleu and all the big luxury express trains of the of the Compagnie des Wagons-Lits. These cars were inaugurated in December 1922 on platform n°1 of the Gare de Lyon to reach Nice and the Nice and the French Riviera. Previously the cars were made of teak wood. For the occasion, the cars were painted in a blue-night livery with gold which gave its name to the Train Bleu, formerly Calais-Méditerranée-Express. The panel we present comes from a type S sleeping car of the Orient Express, from 1922 to 1926. - ADVERTISING POSTER HOLDER Mahogany, rectangular shape, divided into three compartments. On the back, inscription: 4080 in felt pen (car number). 17 x 153 cm. PROVENANCE. Compagnie des Wagons-Lits dining car, series 4080, originally a 1926 Pullman Flèche d'Or car manufactured by by The Leeds Forge Co, transformed in the 1930's into a dining car. - TABLE Wood, the rectangular top resting on a central varnished mahogany foot. It has a polished bronze hinge, and a sliding leather strap system and a sliding leather strap system that allows it to be raised when cleaning the of the car. This table, unique in each dining car, has the particularity of being equipped with a drawer, which allowed the maître d'hôtel to store his slips and receipts. It bears the number 3343.
