TYRRHENIAN" BLACK-FIGURE AMPHORA The body is decorated in four uninterrupted registers with ityphallic comasts, fighting hoplites, panthers, rams, goats and swans. The upper register is adorned with meaningless, purely decorative inscriptions. The neck features a frieze of lotus buds. Black-glazed orange clay with red and white paint highlights. Attica, Greek art circa 540 B.C. Attributed to the Guglielmi Group. Height. 39 cm. Varnish irisation and calcareous deposits. Visible cracks and wear. PROVENANCE.
